Fall Golf Can Be the Best Golf

We love fall golf around here! Not only are the colors and temperatures great, but it is time to reflect on the past golf season and where we want to go in the next year. If you haven't noticed, Larry and I often take our cues from Mother Nature. Fall is a time of bringing our resources closer to our heart. Trees pull their nutrients out of their leaves and bring them back to the trunk and limbs so that they can prepare for winter.  Our wild animals prepare their shelters, nests, and holes by collecting food, leaves and coverings for warmth and protection.

We aeriate the golf course and give her seed and nutrients to make it through another winter; almost an offering and thanksgiving to her for another great season and for allowing us to share our space with our Golf Ranch community.

Personally, we are trying to sleep more, eat better and ponder what we want for next season.  We walk the golf course almost every morning with the dogs and gain inspiration for our aspirations of growing a better experience for our golf community and our own golf games.

For Golf Ranch, we have big dreams of adding more technology to the driving range, creating a larger short game area so you can be great from inside 50 yards,  adding a golf training facility (think current workout room on steroids), indoor simulator, more golf schools and learning opportunities, and an outdoor area to relax, watch a game and get a drink. These are lofty goals and we are excited to watch it all unfold!

For me, LPGA Tour Qualifying did not happen this year, so I have a whole year to continue to prepare my body, mind, spirit for greatness.  That begs the question, "so what are you doing?". This 5 foot 5 and one-half-inch wondergirl is training for long drive! I am doing this a little out of spite, if I am being honest (Larry calls it the chip on my shoulder).  But also, long drive might be a really good competition for me. The contest is way shorter than 72 holes of golf and I might thrive there. In addition, the speed and strength training will definitely help me with all of my golf pursuits.

And now what is Larry doing?  We are continuing to pursue a pain-free golf body that performs better at 60 than it did at 30, 40 or 50. With his laundry list of accidents from his younger years, this is a daily practice in patience, perserverance, and persistance (his 3 Ps). And patient is one thing he is not (and you didn't hear that from me)...

...Back to letting Mother Nature lead. What do you do when you pull your resources together?  What is in store for your game next season? Can we help you get there or do you just need a place where you feel at home? Let us know your thoughts!

Many Birdies,

Melissa, Larry, Moby, Toby and Bob (the Turtle)
