How Do Lessons Work?
Larry and I will both attest that playing golf and teaching the game are the two biggest "whys" we do what we do. Every time we compete or every time we step onto the lesson tee, we learn something about ourselves or the game, and it confirms that we have the best jobs in the world. For those considering golf lessons, below is a brief description of our process.
How Lessons Work...
Our
passion is understanding the golf motion and applying it to your needs, wants,
and dreams.
Larry and I are both PGA Golf Professionals. This means we have completed coursework beyond a college degree that specifically teaches us every aspect of the game from teaching and playing to running a golf-specific facility. He and I are also professional golfers, meaning we play competitvely on various professional tours and in professional events.
Each student is encouraged to take notes or list takeaways that the student would like to review later. This can be done in a notebook or on a phone or tablet.
Lessons are scheduled 10-14 days apart to give students an appropriate amount of time to practice new skills and behaviors. Practicing between lessons is expected.
Practice includes time spent in a mirror, performing
drills, reviewing swing videos from a previous lesson, hitting range balls,
chipping, putting, and/or playing golf.
We appreciate you arriving 10-15 minutes before your lesson time so you can warm up, relax, and let go of anything that could be a distraction during your lesson time.
Who
Do I Choose?
You may choose a lesson with Larry and/or Melissa. We are most effective when we tag-team and do not charge extra for this collaboration. Our full bios are available at www.tricountygolfranch.com.
